Article 1. Purpose

These Terms of Service outline the rules, procedures, conditions, and responsibilities governing your use of SO Dividend (sodividend.com, "the Service"), which provides a dividend payback calculator, portfolio tracking tools, an investment blog, glossary, quiz, cloud synchronization, and related informational content.

Article 2. Service Definition & Scope

The Service provides the following features:

• Dividend Payback Calculator: Calculates and visualizes how much of your investment principal has been recovered through accumulated dividends.
• Portfolio Management: Manage multiple domestic and international dividend stocks with automatic USD/KRW currency conversion.
• Dividend Investment Blog: Educational columns on dividend strategies, stock analysis, and tax guides.
• Glossary: Easy-to-understand explanations of 100+ investment terms including dividend yield, dividend growth rate, and more.
• Dividend Quiz: A gamified learning tool to test and reinforce your dividend investing knowledge.
• Cloud Sync: Synchronize your portfolio across multiple devices via email authentication (powered by Supabase).
• PWA Offline Access: The Service is a Progressive Web App that can be installed and used with limited functionality offline.

Article 3. Registration & Non-Member Usage

1. The core functionalities of the Service (calculator, blog, glossary, quiz) are offered entirely for free and do not require formal user registration or an account.
2. Cloud synchronization across multiple devices requires email authentication (OTP). No personal information beyond your email address is required.
3. When using the Service without registration, all investment data is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB) and is never transmitted to our servers.

Article 4. User Rights and Obligations

1. You should interact with and use the provided features strictly for personal and lawful activities.
2. You agree to neither intentionally nor persistently obstruct the integrity of our hosting servers or database structure (e.g., crawling, DDoS attacks, or automated script abuse).
3. Defamation, abuse, and any actions infringing upon third-party copyrights using our service are strictly prohibited.
4. You are responsible for managing your local data and cloud account. The operator is not liable for damages caused by the leakage of your email authentication credentials.

Article 5. Operator's Rights and Obligations

1. We dedicate ourselves to keeping this platform operational and robust for your convenience.
2. The Service preserves the right to adopt user feedback while systematically optimizing quality.
3. The operator may modify, add, or discontinue Service features. Significant changes will be announced via in-Service notifications in advance.
4. Due to maintenance iterations, system failure, or acts of nature, the Service may be suspended temporarily without prior notice.

Article 6. Placement of Advertisements

1. In order to cover the hosting and maintenance costs of this free service, the operator may place automated third-party advertisements (such as Google AdSense display ads, native ads, etc.) alongside calculators, blog posts, glossary pages, and other areas of the Service.
2. By utilizing this Service, you implicitly agree to the exposure of these ad networks.
3. Be aware that clicking external advertisement links navigates off the site, and the operator accepts no direct liability regarding external interactions.

Article 7. No Investment Advice & Disclaimer

Article 8. Intellectual Property Ownership

1. Original content, blog posts, glossary entries, quiz materials, and code configurations published herein are the proprietary intellectual property of the operator.
2. You must not commercially duplicate, scrape, or distribute these textual materials. Any external citation must properly link back to SO Dividend as the original source.

Article 9. Data Storage & Management

1. Investment data is stored in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB) with AES-256 encryption by default.
2. When cloud synchronization is enabled, data is also stored in encrypted form on Supabase servers.
3. The operator is not responsible for local data loss caused by browser cache clearing, device resets, or similar actions. We recommend using cloud sync or the JSON backup feature for important data.
4. When installing as a PWA, Service Worker caches may be created for offline access. This data is used solely for Service usability purposes.

Article 10. Dispute Resolution & Jurisdiction

Disputes arising in connection with your use of this Service will be resolved according to the laws of the Republic of Korea. Any resulting litigation will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the court overseeing the operator's business residence.

Article 11. Amendment Procedures

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms within the bounds of applicable laws. Up-to-date iterations will be noted by the "Effective Date" below. Significant changes will be communicated via in-Service announcements in advance.
